For the BeginIT project, 2019 was eventful. A lot of interesting things happened during these 12 months: at the beginning of the year, the project expanded its activities and now holds distance programming courses in 10 countries around the world!
Children from 27 orphanages, boarding schools and rural schools in Russia, Kazakhstan, Peru, Ecuador, India, Indonesia, South Africa and other countries have joined the project and are now learning the basics of programming. Some of them have never been involved in programming before, because many schools do not hold computer science lessons.
At the moment, the project has more than 200 participants, they have passed about 4,500 levels, have already written tens of thousands of lines of code and are not going to stop there.
Also, this year, among the project participants, the first BeginIT Challenge 2019 International Contest was held. In total, 14 groups were formed in Russia, Kazakhstan, Mexico and Colombia. During the contest, the guys not only demonstrated the acquired skills, but also presented their own social projects. During three months, the young programmers developed a social project.
Happy New Year and Merry Christmas to our participants and teachers!
