The BeginIT project announces the start of the international BeginIT Challenge 2019 information technology contest!
BeginIT is a Sinet Team social and educational project aimed at identifying and vocational guidance in the sphere of new technologies for capable children from orphanages, boarding schools and rural schools. Participants of the main program run free annual distance courses of the basics of programming.
This fall, as part of a social educational project, the BeginIT Challenge 2019 web development contest will be held between teams participating in the main program of the BeginIT social educational project.
BeginIT Challenge 2019 is an international competition among students who completed the six-month Code Combate and Love to Code programming course, which runs from September 1 to November 30, 2019.
The main goals of the BeginIT Challenge are to develop children’s programming and web development skills, increase interest in technical areas, prepare children from orphanages and villages to adapt to society and the opportunity to take their place in the competitive labor market.
During two months, each team will have to choose an idea and develop a socially significant website that has practical benefits. Competition entries will be evaluated by criteria such as: efficiency, practical relevance, novelty, functionality and technological solution.
Based on the results, the best teams, students and mentors will get valuable prizes. The finalists of the competition will receive targeted financial assistance for the technical equipment of computer classes and programming clubs or additional training.
This year, teams from Russia, Kazakhstan, Colombia and Mexico are participating in the BeginIT Challenge 2019.
